Keeping GOD out Of Politics

Should we keep GOD OUT OF POLITICS?

First of all which God? You can't have one with all these religions.

Secondly, I believe religion was created just to be the law back then. I'm not saying God doesn't exist but no one knows. But no matter what we do it's right, it's all gods plan.

You see god is all knowing, all powerful and everywhere. He knows what will happen and can change it when he want . so this is all god if he does exist. But you can't put a belief into a system on fact.

The story for when Jesus was nailed to the cross isn't about a man dying for our sins. It's saying society just don't want it. And so far in my eyes religion hasn't helped.

It's caused war, confusion and hatred. Jesus had prostitutes, Mohammed had sex with a 9 year old, say what you want about it being ok back then, their god should have told them.

And now if I say I spoke to god I'm schizophrenic.

So no. But politics should allow religion.

I look at it this way... politics/government and religion shouldn't impede on each other.

Here are some examples:

1. Kids should have the right to pray in school and have stickers on their lunchbox that say "I love Jesus", etc.

2. Kids shouldn't be forced to pray in school by the school.

3. A public company should have to serve everyone equally and shouldn't be able to discriminate and use "religious freedom" as an excuse to discriminate.

4. Churches shouldn't be told what they can or cannot preach. That is the freedom of religion and they have the right to accept or deny members as they please because they are a private organization.

5. Stores should have the right to display messages that state "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Hanukah", etc. If a person finds that offensive, then they need to learn to be more tolerant.

And I think that is the way the founders of the US designed the US government to work with the framing of the Constitution. Back in their time everyone in England had to be a member of the Church of England and the rules of government were usually previously governed by the Church such as the Roman Catholic church had done for centuries. In fact, the Roman Catholic church had it's own standing army, it ran the banks, hospitals, etc. Could you imagine going to your church to get a loan to buy a house?

The founders of the US saw how when religion set the rules of government that only one religion tended to be favored and the rest would get discriminated against. In the US protestant religion gets favored and other religions such as Islam get discriminated against. In Middle Eastern countries it is often the other way around.

That's why many of the founding fathers when they were masons added portions of all kinds of different religions to the order. They wanted to be inclusive to all religions and our founders studied lots of religions besides just Christianity.

Should we keep God out of politics? Definitely. The US was designed around the concept of equality for all. Look what happens when we put God into politics. When that has been done we have had stuff that has resulted like the Crusades, the Inquisition, burning of Christians at the stake, the Holocaust, etc.

And today it is being used to try to legally discriminate against gays because "the Bible says so". I ask you... How is preventing someone from having the right to sue for wrongful termination if they are gay not discrimination? That person is being denied the right to even have their case heard before a court!

And what is the court a part of? The JUSTICE system. That person is being denied even the chance at having justice through an open and fair court trial.

  1. We have rules about this, we just don t enforce them.

In order to be exempted from income tax on their contributions, all charitable and religious organizations must agree not to use their money for politics or to support a particular political candidate.

But the only punishment is to revoke the tax exempt status of the whole organization, which is pretty harsh..

And as a practical matter, the IRS is not going to get away with revoking the status of the Catholic Church, because some priest says he opposes abortion or Muslim immigration, or tells people to vote for Trump.

So the government does nothing. They should have a small fine collected from the individual priest or minister and impose it every time there is a complaint. It is certainly a much more serious crime than simply crossing the border without authorization.
